This website is still under development. Check back here in 2027 for better updates. Below are old articles I wrote for my highschool newspaper in 2011 and 2012. If you need to contact me, leave a comment on my “About” page or find me on Facebook. I generally do not update my Facebook until the end of the month, but I usually review it at least once a week.

Carlmont Arts Department now available online

The entire Carlmont Arts Department is available 24/7 via the internet, on the department’s newly created website in the school district’s domain at http://www.seq.org/~ca_art/carlmont_high_school_art_department/Carlmont_High_school_art_Department.html.
The website, created by ceramics teacher Tina Condos, complements Carlmontarts.com, the art program’s other website created by Animation teacher Joshua Sheridan, which focuses on Carlmont’s computer-based graphic arts programs.
“we wanted to change it up a little but, ensure we have a home for all of the fresh pictures of students work” Condos said, “we wanted to have a place to display students work at all times, we have such amazing artwork we want to show off.”
Users can view students work from Carlmont art courses, as well as read up on information about the classes themselves. The descriptions list which classes qualify as a Career Technical Education (CTE) course, one of which all students are required to take.
Users can view flash videos, linked to Sheridan’s youtube channel mrsheridan.
Junior Jordan Pon, who’s animation “A Turtle Story” is displayed on the website, said “[the website] gives people a better idea of what students are capable of.”
All students at Carlmont are required to take one practical art and one performing/fine art course course to receive a diploma. Many of the practical and performing art classes available also qualify as Career Technical Education (CTE) classes.
The Carlmont Art’s program has benefited in recent years, receiving a new building and equipment from various grants and sponsorships, such as the Carlmont Academic Foundation.
